Farewell To A Great Neighbor ... By Doreen Mulman June 9, 2003 - Trevor Goddard was not just an actor to me, he was a really sweet guy and my next door neighbor. I could hear him and his sons splashing in the pool on hot afternoons, and their playful laughter and boisterous shouts always brought a smile to my face. This morning, I saw Trevor's face on my TV, which is not unusual since I see his Hoover Floormate commercial every day. But today was very different ... I looked up to see several photos, from Trev's official website, with the words "Actor Found Dead" beneath them.
I dashed into my clothes and ran from my house to his, only to be confronted by a single bouquet of flowers by his front door, and a photographer, standing in the street out front, asking if I would speak to a reporter on his phone while he took photos. Then the photographer told me Trevor committed suicide, and my knees went weak. I did not talk to the reporter and, feeling ill, had to rush back into my house. I know Trevor absolutely would not do that! He loved his boys too much!
Trevor Goddard starred as Kano in Mortal Kombat. As Lt. Cmdr. Michael 'Mic' Brumby on the CBS series JAG. He also appeared in other films, including Gone in 60 Sixty Seconds and as 'Grapple' in Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.
Trevor's body was found on Sunday, June 8, but he may have died Saturday night. He will be greatly missed around our neighborhood.
My condolences to his sons, Daniel (4) and Travis (7). |
